Celebrate Sharks with Shark Stewards!

About Us

Why Sharktober?

First initiated to promote the successful California Shark Fin Trade Bill in 2009, Shark Stewards created these events to celebrate sharks in San Francisco and educate our community about the importance of sharks to our oceans.

These fun, family friendly and educational events support shark conservation initiatives from overfishing to shark fin trade bans.

Join Shark Stewards for our 9th annual series of talks, films, activities with our partners, friends and shark volunteers!

Love Sharks?

Shark Stewards restores ocean health by saving sharks from overfishing and the shark fin trade, and protecting critical marine habitat. We do this through education, science and advocacy.

We have an international volunteer team fighting for sharks from the USA to China. Join our team, start a chapter, volunteer, host an event,  or donate.
